I know how to connect to the pupils using Google Meet / Microsoft Teams / Zoom. What is next?

Schools in Kerala are conducting online classes very efficiently. Some of the most popular software used are Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, Cisco Webex, WhatsApp, Facebook, Youtube & GoToMeeting

In my previous post “Conduct the “most efficient” online or in-class teaching – FREE of Cost!!!” – I had listed out some of the best methodologies used and suggested by many teachers from all over the World.

Many teachers are using Youtube (For its vast collection of videos) and Google Images for their images. But none of these makes the package as a teaching tool. By using conferencing utilities, we have just got ‘connected’.

Now we need a ‘teaching tool’.

A teaching tool predominantly consists of:

  1. Slides’ or ‘pages’ with graphics (related to the topic – one can use Google Images’ generous collection of free stuff), or videos (Youtube for videos of course) and text matter well arranged (formatting – refers to the text style, position, thickness, size, colour, heading, title, subtitle, body etc).
  2. Teaching tool should have the feature to present a slide in the order and at the time, when the teacher want the pupils to see.
  3. Teaching Tool should have the facility to keep teacher’s notes
  4. Teaching Tool should help the teacher to add slide with teaching content or questions (in the various forms – such as: True/False, Descriptive Typed Text, Descriptive Written (on a paper) Answer, Draw on the screen or on the paper, Multiple choice, one word answers, match the pair, identify from image, voice answer submission, video answer submission, likert scale, re-arrange etc
  5. Auto evaluation, modify and manually evaluate answers
  6. Allocate marks (automatically or manually)
  7. Easily pull out reports, question type wise, question wise, student wise, etc
  8. Store/Save my lessons (teaching materials) (on cloud)
  9. Back up by lessons (teaching materials) on my computer / email
  10. Share teaching materials with colleagues
  11. Assign home-work (student paced learning)

For some teachers there are many more requirements, and I can suggest the solution for that too.
